The First Lady of Kwara State Collaborates with NDLEA to Hold Awareness and Sensitization Event in Commemoration of 2024 International Day Against Drug Abuse And Illicit Trafficking.

The First Lady of Kwara State Founder Ajike People Support Center and Chairperson Nigeria Governors Spouses Forum Her Excellency Ambassador Professor Olufolake Abdulrazaq on Tuesday 25 of June 2024 Hold a sensitization and awareness programme in collaboration with
the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) Kwara State Command and the Kwara State Drug Control Committee to commemorate the 2024 International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking, at the Nigeria Union Teachers Hall, Akerebiata, Ilorin.

Speaking at the event, were officials from the law enforcement agencies in Kwara state who emphasized the importance of the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking and the need for continuous awareness and sensitization programmes for the officers and also the members of the general public.

At the event, the members of law enforcement agencies present were enjoined to always sensitize people and create awareness on drug abuse and illicit trafficking in the state.

Similarly, there was a call for free counseling, rehabilitation for drug abusers, an equipped health care system, and regular sensitization and awareness programmes.

It could be recalled that Her Excellency, the First Lady of Kwara State, Amb. Prof. Olufolake Abdulrazaq has always campaigned against drug abuse and advocated its elimination in Kwara state and its environs. Describing it as a great threat to the future of young children and human life in general.

The event had in attendance, the members of the Nigerian Armed Forces and law enforcement agencies; the Nigerian Airforce; Nigerian Army; Cutsom services; Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps; Nigerian Police Force; Federal Road Saftey Commission; Federal Fire Service; NAFDAC; Nigerian Correctional Services; amongst others.
